County celebrates Seniors’ Week with two Intergenerational Luncheons
In celebration of Seniors' Week, the County of Grande Prairie Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) will partner with local schools in June to host two intergenerational luncheon events aimed at fostering connections between seniors and younger generations.
County seniors are invited to join the County of Grande Prairie at the following locations:
- Monday, June 2 at 11:30 a.m. at Hythe Regional School gymnasium
- Thursday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Clairmont Community School gymnasium
“These luncheons are a meaningful way to celebrate the contributions of seniors while creating opportunities for connection between generations,” says Reeve Bob Marshall. “It’s through these shared experiences that we strengthen community ties and build mutual respect.”
Seniors’ Week is recognized across Alberta from June 2 to 8, 2025, as a time to acknowledge and appreciate the wisdom, achievements, and lasting contributions of older adults.
Registration is required for both luncheons. To RSVP for the Hythe Regional School event, call 780-933-7212 or email agreene@countygp.ab.ca by May 29.To RSVP for the Clairmont Community School event, call 780-567-2843 or email wrc@countygp.ab.ca by June 1.
